Es hat eine Fl\u00e4che von 236.040 Quadratkilometern und laut offizieller Sch\u00e4tzung aus dem Jahr 2016 eine Bev\u00f6lkerung von 36.860.700 Einwohnern (Platz 36 weltweit). Amtssprachen sind Englisch und Swahili. Fr\u00fcher war das Land eine britische Kolonie, erlangte jedoch am 9. Oktober 1962 seine Unabh\u00e4ngigkeit.<br \/>\nDie Hauptstadt und gr\u00f6\u00dfte Stadt Ugandas ist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldclock.com\/de\/afrika\/uganda\/uhrzeit-kampala\/\">Kampala<\/a>. Weitere St\u00e4dte sind Mbarara, Gulu, Pound und Tzintza.<br \/>\nDas Land steht vor einem erheblichen Problem der \u00dcberbev\u00f6lkerung. Die Bev\u00f6lkerung Ugandas stieg von 9,5 Millionen im Jahr 1969 auf 34,9 Millionen im Jahr 2014. Im Vergleich zur letzten Volksz\u00e4hlung (September 2002) wuchs die Bev\u00f6lkerung in den letzten 12 Jahren um 10,6 Millionen. Uganda hat eine sehr junge Bev\u00f6lkerung: Das Medianalter von 15 Jahren ist das niedrigste weltweit. Uganda weist mit 5,97 Geburten pro Frau (Sch\u00e4tzung f\u00fcr 2014) die f\u00fcnftgr\u00f6\u00dfte Geburtenrate der Welt auf.<br \/>\nDie Lebenserwartung f\u00fcr die Gesamtbev\u00f6lkerung lag gem\u00e4\u00df Sch\u00e4tzungen aus dem Jahr 2015 bei 54,93 Jahren (53,54 Jahre bei M\u00e4nnern und 56,36 Jahre bei Frauen).<br \/>\nDer Schilling (Zeichen: USh; Code: UGX) ist die W\u00e4hrung Ugandas.
