Sastoje se od \u0161est velikih otoka i vi\u0161e od 900 manjih. Glavni grad je <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldclock.com\/australia\/solomon-islands\/time-in-honiara\/\">Honiara<\/a>. Ime je otocima dao \u0161panjolski istra\u017eiva\u010d \u00c1lvaro de Menda\u00f1a, prvi Europljanin koji je posjetio to podru\u010dje. Navodno je arhipelag nazvao po biblijskom kralju jer je pogre\u0161no pretpostavio da su na otocima skrivena neprocjenjiva blaga. Salomonovi Otoci bili su pod britanskom vla\u0161\u0107u do 1978., kada su stekli neovisnost.<br \/>\nArhipelag Salomonovih Otoka vrlo je va\u017ean s ekolo\u0161kog stajali\u0161ta jer ima vrlo bogatu i raznoliku floru i faunu.
