Omdat het op hetzelfde moment overal ter wereld hetzelfde getal is, is het de standaardmanier waarop computers tijden opslaan en uitwisselen \u2013 de tijdzone wordt pas toegepast wanneer het getal aan een mens wordt getoond.<\/p><p>Veel systemen gebruiken milliseconden (13 cijfers) in plaats van seconden (10 cijfers).
