De hoofdstad van dit kleine land is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldclock.com\/asia\/bhutan\/time-in-thimphu\/\">Thimphu<\/a>, de offici\u00eble taal is Dzongkha en het telt iets meer dan 700.000 inwoners. Bhutan werd in 1644 gesticht door Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel. Ondanks hun kleine staatsleger van slechts 16.000 soldaten is Bhutan altijd een onafhankelijke natie geweest. Bhutan beschikt niet over een marine of luchtmacht. De munteenheid die hier wordt gebruikt, is de ngultrum (BTN).
