Time Card Calculator
Add up a week of working hours: start, finish and breaks for each day, totals in hours and decimal, overtime and pay.
| Day | Start | End | Break (min) | Hours |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Total | 0:00 | |||
How to fill in your time card
Enter the time you started and finished each day and the length of your unpaid break in minutes. Shifts that end after midnight are handled automatically. The calculator shows each day and the week in hours and minutes and in decimal hours – the format most payroll systems use – and splits regular time from overtime.
Your entries are saved in this browser only, so you can come back during the week and keep adding days.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate hours worked with a lunch break?
Subtract the start time from the end time, then subtract the break. For example 8:30 to 17:00 is 8 hours 30 minutes; minus a 30-minute lunch gives 8 hours, or 8.00 in decimal.
What is 40 hours a week overtime?
In many countries and companies, hours above 40 in a working week are paid as overtime, often at 1.5 times the normal rate. Set your own threshold and rate above.
