When are the world’s stock markets open?
The global trading day starts in Wellington and Sydney, moves through Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong, then Mumbai, the Gulf, Europe and finally New York – so at almost any time on a weekday at least one major market is open. The busiest periods are the overlaps: Europe with Asia in the European morning, and London with New York for a few hours in the afternoon UK time.
Exchanges in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Bangkok close for lunch; the table above shows these breaks. The Saudi Exchange trades Sunday to Thursday. Because the USA, Europe and Australia change their clocks on different dates, the hours in your own time can shift by an hour for a few weeks each year – the times above always use today’s rules.

What time does the New York Stock Exchange open?
The NYSE and Nasdaq are open 9:30 to 16:00 Eastern Time (New York), Monday to Friday. That is 14:30–21:00 in London for most of the year.
What time does the London Stock Exchange open?
The LSE’s main trading session runs from 8:00 to 16:30 UK time, Monday to Friday.
When do forex markets open?
The forex market trades 24 hours a day from Sunday evening to Friday evening (New York time), moving through the Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York sessions.
