About Dhaka
Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh and the centre of its government, finance and industry. The city is closely tied to the garment industry that supplies clothing brands around the world, and it is known for its rivers, cycle rickshaws, Mughal-era landmarks and the striking National Parliament House designed by Louis Kahn.
Bangladesh uses Bangladesh Standard Time at UTC+6 across the whole country, with no daylight saving. The weekend is Friday and Saturday, so offices typically work Sunday to Thursday. Dhaka is half an hour ahead of India, which uses UTC+5:30, and six hours ahead of London in winter.
