About Minsk
Minsk is the capital of Belarus and its political, industrial and cultural centre. Largely rebuilt after the Second World War, it is known for wide boulevards and large-scale Soviet-era architecture, as well as its theatres and museums. The city is home to much of the country's manufacturing, IT and government activity.
Minsk keeps UTC+3 all year round, as Belarus no longer changes its clocks, so it always shares the same time as Moscow. In winter it is an hour ahead of neighbouring Lithuania and Ukraine and two ahead of Poland; when those countries move to summer time, the difference with Lithuania and Ukraine disappears, while Poland is one hour behind. Belarus uses one zone across the whole country.
