About Lima
Lima is the capital of Peru, a Pacific coast city that is the country's political and business centre and its main international gateway. It is known for its colonial historic centre and an acclaimed food scene, and most visitors pass through on their way to Cusco and Machu Picchu.
Peru Time is UTC-5, with no daylight saving, so the clocks stay the same all year. The whole country uses this one zone. Because the United States changes its clocks, Lima matches New York in the northern winter but is an hour behind it in the northern summer, when it lines up with Chicago instead.
