About Bucharest
Bucharest is the capital of Romania and its economic centre, known for its grand boulevards, the huge Palace of the Parliament and its café and nightlife scene. It is also a growing centre for IT, software development and outsourcing, with many companies running teams there.
Romania uses Eastern European Time, UTC+2, and Eastern European Summer Time, UTC+3, in summer. That makes Bucharest two hours ahead of London and one hour ahead of Berlin and Paris all year. It shares its time with Athens, Sofia and Helsinki, which is useful to know when coordinating teams across the EU.
