Time in Africa

Africa stretches across six time zones, from UTC-1 in Cape Verde to UTC+4 in Mauritius and the Seychelles. Most of the continent's population lives within three of them: West Africa Time (UTC+1), Central Africa Time (UTC+2) and East Africa Time (UTC+3).

Almost no African country uses daylight saving time, so the offsets stay the same all year and the gap to Europe changes only when Europe moves its clocks. Morocco is the notable exception: it normally uses UTC+1 but drops back an hour during Ramadan, and Egypt has reintroduced summer time in recent years.
