About Moscow
Moscow is the capital of Russia and the country's political, financial and transport hub. The Kremlin, Red Square and the Bolshoi Theatre are among its best-known sights, and its rail stations and airports connect much of Russia, Central Asia and beyond. People check Moscow time for business, travel and keeping in touch with family across a very large country.
The city uses Moscow Time, UTC+3, and Russia no longer changes its clocks for summer, so the offset is the same all year. Russia spans eleven time zones, and Moscow Time is the reference most people mean when quoting Russian time. As European clocks move forward in summer, Moscow ends up just one hour ahead of Berlin or Paris rather than two.
